OCTOBER 2024

October 31st, 2024

It's Halloween night, the trick or treaters have come and gone (we had one family, lol) and I finally have a quiet moment to gather some thoughts from one of the nicest October's I can remember.

We had some of the most beautiful fall weather that lead us through an equally good fall harvest.  Our view each day was full of vibrant colours spread out like artwork at the back of each field which made the tractor seat more like a bench at an art museum… truly breathtaking.
Fall is not usually like this.
In fact, we catch ourselves holding our breath wondering when Mother Nature realizes our nice stretch has been long enough and it's time to add some white stuff to the mix.
But she took mercy on us this year, and we took every minute she gave us to get as much done as humanly possible.
(note… we're paying for that now. 😉)

October in the sheep barn was made up of early preparation for our upcoming winter lambing group, which means we are on full watch for all the fun pre-lambing problems.
We've also had our days begin with a visit to the Golden Girls village, as our sweet Ruby Sue is slowly going downhill.  I'm trying to wait until she really shows me I need to make the hard decision, and let me tell you… it never gets easier.
Ruby Sue is the last of my Ruthie family lineage and it breaks me a little to let her go.

However, October was also a big month of new beginnings.  We finally moved into our temporary warehouse and held our very first Sheepishly Me launch in this space!
Although we hit more roadblocks than I was equipped to handle, my family once again came in to save the day.
Jack even came home and helped with all aspects of our fall launch and I have to say, it really brought us closer after having him move out last year.
My sister, niece and Jess were also on deck to get our sold out collection out our doors and shipped out to you all!
I can't thank you enough for your love and support with our fall launch.  The emails, pictures and messages of you all receiving your packages meant the world to me.

Which finally brings me to the big reveal of this month's newsletter…
The 2024 Sheepishly Me Winter Launch!!

We are doing things a bit different this year.  I really don't like jumping on the Christmas train until after Remembrance Day (in Canada), but I also realize this particular thing needs to be to you all by December 1st…

SOOOO…. Monday November 4th (3 DAYS!!) was decided to be drop date of our 2024 Sheepishly Me Advent Calendar.
Again this year, due to the immense amount of work getting these together we have very limited supply (4 times more than last year however!), so I wanted you all to get this message first.

ONLY the calendars will be available Monday, and the rest of the winter launch is scheduled for Friday November 15th, but I will update you closer to that time with the details!

I'm so proud of these Advent Calendars, and it's wrapped around a theme I've been quietly working on for two years now.  I also added a few more things that I've fallen in love with this year, including a collaboration with a local candlemaker (and now friend) Nicki of Wick + Bear who also contributed to this years calendar.
I really hope you love it as much as I loved creating it, and for the record we just finished putting the final ones together today!

Talk about last minute…
but hey, that's how I roll.🥴

Once again, from the bottom of my heart… thank you for letting me share yet another piece of our farm with you all.
❤️S.
